May Favourites

How is it basically June already? That’s half way through the year! It is insane how quick this year has flown by. If you’d asked me in January to wear a green striped t-shirt and pink suede trainers I would’ve said “hell no!”. Yet here we are with some May Favourites…

A few beauty product first. I was really excited to get these Becca bits for my birthday back in April, as I’ve loved everything of hers that I’ve used before. However, her latest primer, the Becca First Light Priming Filter, is the first of hers I’ve tried.  At first glance, the amazing lavender shade can look a bit scary. But it goes super sheer when rubbed into the skin. As a classic oily skin type I do prefer a more silicone based primer. This one does make your skin looks nice a dewy and fresh, but doesn’t have the longevity factor for me.

On the other hand the Becca Ultimate Coverage Concealing Crème is one of the best I’ve tried in a while. I’ve dabbled with those concealers from Collection 2000, Nars and Urban Decay. However they just weren’t right and now I think maybe it’s the formula that was the problem. After seeing so much about the Nars Soft Matte Concealer online lately, I wanted to try a similar product and thought this would be worth a try. It comes in a pot like the Soft Matte Concealer and it’s super high coverage. So, I tend to use it for my undereye area and on blemishes. Firstly applying with my Zoeva Concealer brush and then buffing in with a beauty blender. Definitely worth a try!

Now then, let’s get on to the Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork. I’m not ashamed to say this one was completely influenced by The Anna Edit. I’ve looked at it so many times in the shops and just thought “no, it’s not for me. It’s way too warm toned for my pale skin”. But now I can’t get enough of it! Like Anna says it’s the perfect no makeup makeup shade – definitely not too warm. It’s so easy to apply wether you do it with your fingers or with a brush. It blends out so well because it has a nice soft consistency, whilst being buildable and it does actually last even on my oily lids. Now that I think about it maybe I could do with it in a another shade….

If you read my pink fashion edit a couple of months ago you’ll know that these Pink Adidas Gazelle Trainers have been on my list for a while. Another birthday gift, I’ve tried to be really careful with where and when I wear them because they’re suede so get dirty really easily. Aside from that, they’re such a good shade of pink. Pink shoes do sound a bit outrageous – but just look at them?! I love wearing mine with this Topshop Stripe Contrast T-Shirt. Such a nice, Summery shade of green with the pink trim on the collar making it that little bit more different. I also got this style with pink stripes and a black trim. But sadly I think they’re all sold out on the Topshop website now!

This month I also bought my first enamel pin! I know I’m late on the bandwagon but I couldnt resist. I saw this little rainbow pin on a card in M&S for like £2-£3 and I really love it! I’ve had loads of compliments on it already. It just brightens up any outfit and was such a bargain!
